Food Network Looks For New Star
Monday September 24th, 2007 Food Network is preparing for a fourth season of its reality series “The Next Food Network Star” and for the first time will be will be holding open-call auditions in order to find aspiring TV chefs, it was announced today by Bob Tuschman, senior vice president, Programming & Production for Food Network.
Aspiring Las Vegas TV chefs can apply in person Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the David Burke Las Vegas restaurant in The Venetian on the Strip. Applicants should bring an application, photograph and resume and/or bio to the auditions, which will allow them to meet with network casting directors.

Carmel Room To Hold Wine Maker’s Dinner

Woollaston Estates Introduces New Zealand Wines To Las Vegas
Monday July 16th, 2007 Glenn Schaeffer, former Mandalay Resort Group president, and head of Fontainebleau Resorts, has partnered with Philip Woollaston, an environmental advocate, boutique winery owner and former Nelson, New Zealand, to found Woollaston Estates in the Nelson wine region.
Schaeffer, who has made his second home on the grounds of the winery, still has strong ties to Las Vegas. Fontainebleau has planned a 3,889-room, 63-story hotel-casino with condos on the north end of the Strip. It is expected to open in late 2009.

Starbucks Offers New Cool Drinks,
Salads, Snacks For Summer
Monday July 9th, 2007 Starbucks has added new salads and snacks, as well as the Raspberry Mocha beverages.
Starbucks has paired the flavors of fresh raspberries and chocolate to create the new Raspberry Mocha Frappuccino blended coffee drink. The coffeehouse also features the Raspberry Mocha Frappuccino Light blended coffee for a lighter option with 1/3 fewer calories. The Iced Raspberry Mocha, made with Starbucks signature Espresso Roast, is also available.
Starbucks has expanded its lunch offerings at the more than 4,400 Starbucks stores in the United States including those in Las Vegas. The newest fresh lunch selections and snacks are made with wholesome ingredients and are inspired by savory spices and eclectic essences from around the world. The lunch selections include national and regional specialties.

Sammy's Woodfired Pizza opened its third Southern Nevada location on June 22, 2007.
