Bistro Zinc Is Back

Chef Joseph Keller’s Bistro Zinc on the lakefront of MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, will celebrate its grand reopening with a bang, serving complimentary cocktails and hors d’œuvres with a smoke-and-fire theme Sept. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The culinary artisan says it’s his way of extending thanks to his customers, both old and new, for their support in the aftermath of the restaurant’s June 30 fire.

Z’Tejas Offers Chile Festival Menu

Hosting its fourth annual Chile Festival, Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill introduces Las Vegas to the art of cooking with chiles, Sept. 4 - 23. Adding a little extra zest to the festivities, Z’Tejas will contribute $1 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas for every item ordered off the Chile Fest Menu.

More than 1,000 pounds of famous Hatch, New Mexico green chile peppers, along with fresh ingredients will be used in a special menu highlighting chile appetizers, entrées and even desserts. The Chile Fest menu is available for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

RUB BBQ UNVEILS ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPER BIKE

RUB BBQ hit the road to unveil the restaurant’s brand new Orange County Chopper bike on CBS’ “The Early Show” Aug. 18.

The black “Hog” was decked out in red flames and had its own barbecue smoker sidecar designed by David Klose of bbqpits.com. It features 124-inch H&L motor with a Black Backer 6-speed and OCC Chrome bars in drag style. The bike can reach up to 100 mph and grill up to 20 racks of ribs.

During “The Early Show” segment Saturday, RUB BBQ’s Chef Paul Kirk, aka “’The Kansas City Baron of Barbecue,”’ showcased his specialty menu items, including Burnt Ends, smoked twice until crispy and lightly sauced.

Rock ‘N Roll Wine Releases The Grotto

Rock ‘n Roll Wine founders Chris Hammond and Sonny Barton, the duo behind the Las Vegas Rock ‘n Roll Wine events, have announced the release of The Grotto, the second limited release bottling from their wine subsidiary, Amplified Wines.

The Grotto will be one of several featured wines at Rock ‘n Roll Wine’s Second Annual Wine Amplified Festival at to be held at Mandalay Bay Beach. The Sept. 22 event, which is expected to draw more than 3,000 spectators, will feature multi-platinum artist Sugar Ray.

A 100 percent Shiraz, The Grotto is a rich and supple red wine from the Yarra Valley located in Southeast Australia, Hammond said. The wine is available exclusively in Las Vegas liquor stores, including Lee’s Discount Liquor and Khoury’s Fine Wine & Spirits, and can be purchased online at www.rocknrollwine.com.
