Chef Louis Osteen To Open Two New Las Vegas Restaurants
Monday October 1st, 2007 Recognized as one of the top culinary talents in the Southeast, Chef Louis Osteen will debut two new restaurants at Town Square Las Vegas this fall. Direct from Pawleys Island in South Carolina, Louis's Las Vegas and Louis's Fish Camp will open Nov. 14, each with its own flavor and flair.
Widely regarded as a champion of Lowcountry South cuisine and known for the revival of Southern fare nationally, Chef Louis' restaurants will feature upscale and updated renditions of classic regional recipes.

Monday September 17th, 2007 RA Sushi Bar Restaurant sold 214 Rollin' With Whoopi sushi rolls created by 93.1-FM Radio after the local radio station won RA N' ROLL on Aug. 1. The contest resulted in $1,428 raised and an increase in awareness for Positively Kids.

Foundation To Hold Gala
Monday September 10th, 2007 The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas will host its sixth annual fundraising gala at Mandalay Bay Beach Oct. 19, featuring world-class cuisine, fine wines and entertainment. Tennis great and Las Vegas native Andre Agassi will be honored by the Foundation at the gala event that will also include a special performance by rock group Chicago.

Monday September 3rd, 2007 The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas has elected its new executive board to lead the organization for the next two years, Foundation officials announced. Founded in May 2001 by Rino Armeni, the Foundation is a forum for Las Vegas food and beverage executives working as a unified force to support underprivileged students in their pursuit of a career in the hospitality field that will, in turn, establish a pipeline of future leaders in the Las Vegas hospitality industry.

Monday August 27th, 2007 Michele Polci, CPCE, scored an impressive hat trick at the annual National Association of Catering Executives awards, held in Houston, Texas July 18. Polci, director of catering sales for the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino won three awards -- Catered Event of the Year Over $35,000, Best Themed Food and Beverage and Caterer of the Year, the organization’s top individual honor.

Chefs’ Challenge Slated For Sept. 15
Monday August 20th, 2007 While September means the dawn of relief from scorching desert temperatures, Wolfgang Puck’s Chinois will heat up when the restaurant hosts the Las Vegas Chefs’ Challenge – Battle: Aloha Soy Sauce Sept.15 from noon to 3 p.m.
At the competition, top chefs from around the Vegas Valley will go head-to-head to see whose cuisine will reign supreme. The grand prize is the opportunity to represent Las Vegas at the national competition in Hawaii this October. Four local celebrities and a representative of Aloha Soy Sauce will make up the judges’ panel and determine together who will be named the competition’s winner.

Sushi Roll Named In Her Honor

Monday August 13th, 2007 RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, located at the Fashion Show Mall, invited local media outlets to participate in RA N' ROLL, a competition to create, name and submit an original recipe for a sushi roll.
On Aug. 1, a panel of local celebrity judges including Nathan Burton, Anthony Cools, Amazing Johnathan and his assistant Psychic Tanya, Ronn Lucas and Kevin Burke, sampled five rolls RA had selected as finalists. Considering overall taste, presentation and creativity of name, the judges then named the roll created by KPLV FM-Radio 93.1, "Rollin' with Whoopi," as the winner. KPLV named their roll in honor of Whoopi Goldberg, the host of "Wake Up with Whoopi," which airs on the station Monday through Friday from 5 to 9 a.m. The show, based in New York City, is also syndicated in 14 other major markets. When Whoopi heard of the win, she immediately wrote a $1,000 check for Positively Kids. She sampled the sushi roll Friday on her live radio show.
